Day 01: Udumalpet – Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
We will arrange your pick up from Udumalpet.
Pick up at 8 am. Refresh and breakfast at Ompathar Check post at 8.30 am.
To Indira Gandhi Wild life sanctuary, recently declared as Tiger Reserve. Wild animal sight
seeing on the way to Marayoor. This sanctuary nurtures arboreal animals like Tiger, Panther,
Elephant, Gaur, Pangolin, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Wild Boar, Dholes,
Sloth Bear, Porcupine, Nilgiri Tahr, Civet Cat and Toddy Cat etc.
11AM – Kerala boarder
11.30 Trekking through Chinnar wild life Sanctuary.
The trekking starts after lunch at 1.00 pm from Chinnar Eco- Tourism centre of Kerala Forest Department. Chinnar Valley is the one and the only rain shadow region of the Western Ghats of Kerala spread an area of about 200 sqkm, both in Tamilnadu and Kerala. This programme consists of a day trekking through wildlife zone of the sanctuary, guided by tribal and forest trekking guides. The trekking route passes through Chinnar valley, comprises an area of 80 sq km with unique thorny scrub and cactus forests bordered with thick groves on the streams sides. The Valley is rich in wildlife like Elephants, wild gaur, leopard, sambar, wild dogs, spotted deer, civets, Slender Loris, and many other mammals, reptiles and birds. During the trekking through forest the visitor can watch the rare species of fauna and flora at close proximity. The hill top house is about seven kilometers away from the base camp. On the way we will stop near a tribal village and proceed our trek to the hill top house. We will reach the camp before five pm. You can take rest under the cool veranda of at house looking the impregnable open forest around. After the tea and rest we will start hiking to near by waterholes to spot more wildlife. Before night falls we will return to the camp. You can freshen yourselves up and prepare for the campfire dinner. Our tribal guards and kitchen staff will prepare dinner for us. If the sky is clear you can see the starry sky and bursting with shooting stars.
Hilltop Hut
Located on the edge of Thengamala (coconut mountain), this campsite is used by the rangers to watch smugglers and poachers. The camp is built in traditional way with bamboo, mud and grass. It has two rooms with coat and comfortable mattress with a detached toilet out side. The courtyard of the hut is an excellent viewpoint to spot animals. More over it offers scenic splendours of the nature around and the breathtaking views of landscape.
DAY 02 : Hilltop Hut to Chinnar
In the early morning from the hill top house, we can spot unique wildlife wonders moving down the valley. The return journey stars at eight am through unique thorny scrub and cactus forests bordered with thick groves.
11:00 AM: Chinnar to Marayoor
11.30 : Hotel – Where rooms will be reserved for you - Refresh and rest.
1:00 PM - Visit to Kanthalloor – Visit natural sandal wood forest,fruits and vegetable plantations – Ancient rock art and rock paintings – Ancient stone houses etc. or Trekking through sandal wood forest with guides from Kerala Forest Department- or Trekking to Thoovanam water falls which is one of the wonder in the Chinnar Wild Life Sanctuary.
7:00 PM Return back to the hotel
8:00 PM: Tribal Dance Show (On request)
Kummittamkuzhi Hill Pulaya Tribal Dance is famous for its tradition and folklore. Their dance team, located in the colony in Marayoor town, has conducted many programmes in different parts of the country and won many awards. They dance non-stop for an hours with vigour and zeal. This tribal dance can be arranged for tourists.
Village Tour (Package One)

Day 01
The tour consists of visit to ethnic farms like sugar cane, contour farms, lemon grass farms,
vegetables and fruit farms etc, visit to tribal villages and spend an evening with them enjoying
their folk dance, hiking through villages to experience mountain village life, visit to
archeological sites like burial monuments, cave paintings, cave temple etc, hike through
sandal wood forest, visit to waterfalls etc.
Day 02
Visit to tribal hamlet of primitive Muthuvan tribal people living deep inside the forest tracts of
the slopes of the Western Ghats. This visit give a great opportunity to watch and study the
most colourful and significant feature of the communal life of the Muthuvan tribal people.
Day 03
General sight seeing - visit on attractions on Marayoor. You have the options to select or expand in accordance with your time schedule.

Village Tour (Package Two)
2 Days and 1 Night
Day 01
The tour consists of visit to traditional farms like sugar cane, contour , lemon grass fields,
vegetables and fruit farms etc. Visit to tribal villages and spend an evening with them enjoying
their folk dance, hiking through villages to experience tribal village life, visit to
archaeological sites like burial monuments, dolmens, cave paintings, cave temple etc., and hike through
sandal wood forest, visit to waterfalls etc.
Day 02
Visit to tribal hamlet of primitive Muthuvan tribal people living deep inside the forest tracts of
the slopes of the Western Ghats. This visit gives a great opportunity to watch and study the

Students Group Tour (Package One)
Educational and Study Tour
3 Days and 2 Nights
We are arranging educational and special interest tours for schools, colleges and faculties with special emphasis on selected subjects. Marayoor is an ideal location for special interest educational tours especially on botany, zoology, history and archaeology, ethnology and anthropology, natural history etc. We will assign specialized guides to explore respective fields, arrange budget accommodation, food and transfers.
Day01
We can arrange your pickup from Udumalpet, Tirupur or Coimbatore or you can report our base camp at Marayoor.
Chinnar Wild Life Sanctuary Eco –Tourism centre of Kerala Forest Department – The students would be accommodating in the dormitory run by the Forest Department – Nature camp – sightseeing in the sanctuary – rare species of flora and fauna – Over night educational classes by experts- stay at the dormitory during night time.
Day02
Animal watching inside the sanctuary. After breakfast traveling to Marayoor- Visit to ancient stone houses and rock paintings. Natural sandalwood forest – vegetable plantations – primitive tribal village- fruits plantation – evergreen rain forest. Camp fire and tribal dance show can be arranged for the evening. Students can be participated in the tribal dance. Over night stay at the dormitory or hotel, whichever you prefer.
Day 03
Return journey to Udumalpet – visits Amaravathy Dam and crocodile farm – Thirumoorthymala dam, temple and water falls.
